On October 17 you elected all six Save Our Saanich candidates. Saanich's new Mayor and Council will be sworn in at the inaugural Council meeting on Monday, November 2, 2026.

The 2026 results
Mayor: Rishi Sharma, 17,157 votes (45.31%)
Council (eight seats). Every Save Our Saanich candidate was elected:
- Lorne DeLarge, 16,615 votes (1st)
- Nancy Di Castri, 16,319 votes (2nd)
- Laurie Lidstone, 15,389 votes (4th)
- Graham Wright, 15,101 votes (5th)
- Matt McGeachie, 14,591 votes (6th)
Turnout: 38,299 ballots, 42.74% of eligible Saanich voters, an increase of 11.94% from the 2022 election.
CRD directors (informal poll): Nancy Di Castri and Lorne DeLarge placed first and second, and Matt McGeachie fourth. Council appoints four of its members to the Capital Regional District board.
Public opinion question on Saanich and Victoria becoming one municipality: No, 67.96%; Yes, 32.04%.

Save Our Saanich Elector Organization
Save Our Saanich™ Elector Organization is a legally-registered, non-partisan, not-for-profit elector organization that endorses and supports independent municipal election candidates in Saanich who are substantially aligned with our five top priorities.
We formed because the voices of Saanich citizens should be clearly heard and respected by candidates. Sweeping densification, the erosion of natural environments, and ideological transportation policies are changing the character of Saanich without adequate consultation. Saanich needs a Council prepared to change course.
